Our world has abruptly changed and life as we knew it has shifted significantly. Non-essential workers have had to leap from rarely being home to being safer at home, and have dove off the cliff of constant movement into the unfamiliar waters of decreased activity.
Suddenly, you have the thing you previously wished for—more time. And if recent social media posts are any indication, it was great, at first. Now, with the dust settling on the initial impact, you’re faced with navigating this new season of working from home, homeschooling, constant news briefings, and an increased urge to scroll social media. Added together, this new situation can wreak havoc on your productivity. But the show must go on. And during this time of quarantine, with at-home time rising and distractions mounting, it becomes increasingly important to give your focus a boost. Because, as you’ve likely already discovered, more time does not always equal getting more done.

By Teresa Hawthorne Are you being robbed? Willingly?
Here’s how you can tell. Are your thoughts filled with words like later, tomorrow, someday, or eventually? If so, a thief could be carrying away one of your most prized possessions. Do you often wonder how it could be that you’ve been busy all day, but haven’t completed much on your to-do list? If your answer is yes, a thief may be running off with a valuable asset. The thief—procrastination. Your precious commodity—time. By Teresa Hawthorne Live healthier. Stop procrastinating. Get organized. Write a book. Start a business.
We all want to achieve something that makes our lives better. Sometimes it’s big, sometimes it’s small, but better, nonetheless. And when the desire for better grows into more than just a wish, we set goals to achieve it. With determination and our best intentions, we begin the journey toward our better place. But, even with the strongest resolve to arrive at better, some of our goals remain unaccomplished. No one heads toward a destination with an intentional plan to never get there. So, what happens? Do you not want it bad enough? Are you not totally committed? Is it too hard for you? Do you want it to happen without putting in the work? Or, is something missing? Often times, it’s the latter. There’s a missing component. To successfully reach your goals, you need a power supply. |
